Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Clonfadda stands in County Cork, Ireland as a circular earthen enclosure with an external fosse and a man-made underground passage in its interior. People may have lived, hidden or worshipped inside the bank before ploughing and stone boundaries changed the edge of the hole. The underground passage still suggests that the fort was not only a field mark but a place for entering below the ordinary ground.

In tillage, on level ground above S-facing slope. Circular, slightly raised area (42.9m N-S; 39.9m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1m); external fosse (D 1m) NE->SSW. Bank low internally (H 0.1m) NE->S; break (Wth 4m) to NE. Fosse enclosed by stone field boundary NW->N; stones collected from ploughed field dumped at base.
