What is recorded here

No visible boundary exists today, though a faint ridge or buried groove may still mark the old line. The land itself remembers the shape, holding the departed and the living inside one continuous wheel. What is forgotten by people is not forgotten by soil, rain or time.

In pasture, on W-facing slope. Circular area (29.8m N-S; 29.1m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.3m; ext. H 0.8m) with external fosse (D 1.5m). Bank survives best SSW->ESE; no surface trace noted of lime kiln depicted on 1842 OS 6-inch map, against inner face of bank to SE. Fosse waterlogged to W and NW. Entrance (Wth 4m) to W, now blocked; causeway across fosse heavily overgrown. Gap worn through bank to E. Grass-covered interior slopes down to SW; surface uneven.
