What is recorded here
An Clochán is a twenty-one-metre earthen ring on a gentle slope above Ventry Harbour, holding a hidden passage and a large nearby cairn. Its seam is not a ordinary wall but a living boundary where human memory and fairy roadwork overlap. The chamber may have served as a threshold chamber, a place where visitors crossed from the visible world into the hidden life of the hill.

Liscunneendeen/Lios Coinín Doinn: This roughly circular univallate rath is located on a very gentle SW facing slope overlooking Ventry Harbour. A Man-made underground passage and hut site have previously been recorded in the interior and a large cairn lies 50m to NE.
The earthen enclosing bank is a maximum of 1.5m high and the 2.15m wide entrance gap faces SE. The S side of the latter is defined by an upright slab. The gap at NE is a secondary feature. Between the 2 gaps, the bank is entirely earthen, but elsewhere it forms part of the field boundary system and is faced with drystone masonry.
The circular ruin mentioned in the OSNB (Kildrum, 25) and described as being 12 feet (3.65m) in diameter and 5 feet (1.5m) high is no longer extant, the only features visible in the interior being 2 depressions, .75m deep and irregular in outline. The Man-made underground passage led E from the hut and was said to extend as far as the cairn. The latter, composed of a mixture of earth and stone, is oval in plan and measures 11m N-S, 8m E-W and 1.5m in height.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 363. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
