Mortons and Esposito were never far from that fort, which is why the claim still smells of pride rather than certainty. An earthen ring stands in Abbeymahon pasture, large enough to hold a small life and closed enough to keep out most of the world. A field fence cuts the interior into three, as if someone divided one house into bedrooms for different kinds of people.

In pasture, on NE-facing slope. Roughly circular area (37m N-S; 34m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 3m), with external fosse. Break in bank to ESE (Wth 2.6m), with causeway.
