What is recorded here

Indicated is a possible fairy fort on a Kerry pasture ridge, mapped as a five-sided ring in 1846 and a circular opening in 1894, yet now reduced to a slight rise beside the Flesk River. It may have been a human rath, a marker for herders, or a boundary drawn by imagination. The land has taken back its shape, leaving only the suggestion that someone once enclosed the sky.

In pasture, on an elevation c. 400m to the W of the Flesk River. This possible rath is indicated as a five-sided enclosure (c. 20m N-S; c. 20m E-W) on the 1846 OS 6-inch map and as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m), open at N, on the 1893-4 OS 6-inch map.
