What is recorded here

Indicated is a crannog in Errit, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the centre of the northern part of Errit Lough, roughly 150m from the NE shore. The oval island measures 11.5m east-west and 4m north-south, rising 0.2m above the water. Surrounding reeds mark a larger mound about 30m across, though no artificial construction is visible.

In the centre of the N part (dims. c. 400m NW-SE; c. 300m NE-SW) of Errit Lough, c. 150m from the NE shore. Oval island (dims. 11.5m E-W; 4m N-S; H 0.2m) with a shallow shore (dims. 22m E-W; 16m N-S), but the surrounding reeds indicate a large mound (diam. c. 30m). There is no evidence of artificial construction. Crannog (RO019-004----) is c. 200m to the NW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
