Dysert is a small townland in the barony of Buttevant. The area contained three standing stones, one in Mrs Hanlon's field, before at least one was broken. People may have set them as markers, trophies or warnings, yet even the purpose has faded. What remains is a field, a lost stone and the chance that human hands once shaped the place.

One of three stones (9978, 9980) recorded by Bowman (1934, 343) in this townland; 'In Mrs Hanlon's. This was broken some years ago'. Exact location not known.
