Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Dunmurraghoe, County Roscommon, Ireland. The subcircular grass-covered area sits on a broad col where hills rise to the SW, NE and E. An overgrown flat-topped earthen bank defines the perimeter, reducing to a scarp NNW-NE, while an outer fosse runs NE-E-SW beside a field bank. A widened entrance opens at the SW.
On a broad col with hills rising to the SW, NE and E. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 36m N-S; 32m E-W) defined by an overgrown flat-topped earthen bank (Wth of base 4-6.2m; Wth of top 1.8-2.7m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 1-1.9m) which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.7m) NNW-NE, and an outer fosse (Wth of top 4.3-5m; Wth of base 2.3-5m; D 0.3-0.4m) NE-E-SW which is circumscribed by a field bank SW-NW.
