Walsh describes the former existence of a cottage, demolished in 1897, which is thought to have been buiilt c. 1680's (Walsh 1973, 72, Fig.18). It was two storeys high with an external stair leading to the upper floor. It adjoined the site of the Priory of Knights Templars, founded in 1174.
