Single-span pedestrian bridge over internal road within Dublin Castle complex, built c. 1850. Segmental arch with ashlar limestone voussoirs and soffit, rising from slightly battered ashlar limestone abutment to south, approached by perron steps, with simple metal balustrade to granite plinth wall, round-knobbed newels to south, and granite steps rising to bridge deck. Octagonal-plan block to north, and Castle Garden to south.

This slender, elegant bridge spans the Ship Street Gate approach into the Dublin Castle complex, providing a physical link between the State Apartments and the Castle Gardens.
