What is recorded here

Indicated is an irregular earthen mound on a Cavan drumlin, marked as a fort on maps since 1836 and likely the remains of a rath. It sits above the land like a forgotten claim, visible enough to be named yet resisting clear description. People may have lived there, fled there or simply pointed at it when lost, handing the hill a name instead of a memory.
