Half-buried in grass and hedge, Liseland keeps its shape like a breath held under water. The quarry took the north edge and the field swallowed the east, yet the south gate still stands wide enough for a cart or a ghost. What remains is not a ruin but a margin, a place where human hands and fairy claim overlap.

Situated on a low E-W ridge on the floor of a valley. This is a grass-covered subcircular area (dims 36m E-W; 32m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 0.5m at W), but the perimeter is damaged by a quarry at N and incorporated into a field bank and hedge ENE-SSE. There is an entrance (Wth 3.3m), which is probably modern, at S. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Leitrim' compiled by Michael J.
