What is recorded here

On a broad ridge in County Leitrim, a vanished stone pile once separated Cavan, but human hands or time removed it before the 1907 map was drawn. The Ordinance Survey built about six such boundary marks nearby, yet this is one of the few already absent. Its disappearance does not diminish the survey’s work; it makes the ridge feel wider, as if the county line withdrew into memory.

Situated on a broad E-W ridge. It is marked only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in italic lettering as a 'Pile of stones' marking the boundary with County Cavan.
