What is recorded here

Enclosure 1 in Drumirril, County Monaghan, is a marked boundary within a prehistoric rock art landscape. Blaze O' Connor identified it in 2006 as part of an inscribed region where stone and boundary may have shaped ritual memory. It is not a building or village, but a shaped place inside a wider living landscape.
'Enclosure 1' in Blaze O' Connor's thesis (Figure 3.73) - see O' Connor B. 2006, 'Inscribed Landscapes contextualising prehistoric rock art in Ireland'. Unpublished PHD thesis, University College Dublin. Date of upload: 27 August 2010

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
