Indicated is a circular grass fort at the south end of a Monaghan drumlin ridge, marked as a fort in gothic lettering on the 1834 map and still readable as a curving field bank today. Its shallow inner ridge, no taller than a knee, may have been the last visible trace of a household that kept fire, tools or memory inside a small chosen circle. The name does not explain itself, but the shape does: a place set apart, repeated until it could be pointed at.

Situated at the S end of a N-S drumlin ridge. This is depicted as an embanked circular enclosure (ext. diam. c. 40m) and described as a 'fort' in gothic lettering on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map and as a curve in a field bank SE-W-NW on the 1907 edition. It is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 35m NW-SE) defined by the curving field bank and hedge SE-W –NW but a low bank (Wth c. 3m; H 0.25m) survives inside the line of the field bank W-N.
