Cross in Drumfea

O' Donovan found the plain granite cross in County Carlow during the 1830s, standing one metre tall beside a children's burial ground. The stone has no carving, no date, no name, and still points toward the small graves hidden under the soil. Its sharp edges and quiet location suggest people placed it deliberately, perhaps to mark love rather than pride. The cross remains a visible witness to lives that never grew old.
