What is recorded here

Mnemo is a fair fort in West Cork. People avoid it because it belongs to the hidden world. The earth bank still stands beside Rosskerrig Mountain, marking the boundary between human pasture and fairy claim.

In flat pasture, at foot of Rosskerrig Mountain. Circular area (29.4m N-S; 30.5m E-W) partially enclosed by earthen bank (H 2.5m) W->S; scarp elsewhere; shallow external fosse to N. Dromnea Fort is a circular early-medieval ringfort, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries, characterized by a partial earthen bank and scarp. Local folklore, common to many such sites, associates it with the fairies or ancient druids, though specific traditions connected to this site are not recorded.
