Barrow is a ring-barrow on a Kerry ridge beside the River Blackwater, preserving a level circular chamber seven and a half metres wide inside a fossed earth bank. Two opposed causeways cut the bank at east and west, with edge slabs still marking the eastern gap and fallen slabs lying at the western approach. The chamber is small enough for a handful of people to stand together, yet large enough to suggest ceremony rather than a simple burial mound.

This monument is located on the crest of a low ridge which runs parallel to the River Blackwater. About 100m to N is a standing stone (KE091-043002-), while in the bog at E are a number of relatively modern fionnán enclosures. The ring-barrow survives as a well-preserved, level, circular area, c. 7.5m in diameter, which is defined by a fosse and an external earthen bank. The fosse is 1.1m wide and averages .7m deep, while the bank ranges from 1.2m to 2.5m wide and averages .8m high externally. The overall diameter of the site averages 15m. Access to the interior is by means of two opposed causewayed entrances at E and W. The gap in the bank at E, 2.15m wide, is flanked on either side by a slab set on edge, while two large slabs, which now lie prostrate on the S edge of the causeway at W, may have originally flanked the 2.5m wide entrance here.
