Dowth holds a broken graveslab with an incised cross and chamfered edge, visible in a photograph taken by Du Noyer in 1867. The slab later became a reused grave-marker, yet it has not been noted since that moment. It may still lie beneath soil or lean forgotten inside the graveyard, waiting for someone to notice the cross cutting through time again.
