Killallon is a Norman motte and bailey in County Meath, built on living land and still standing with its grassy slopes and angular courtyard. It is not a passive relic; it is a chamber of human ambition, crowded with the ghosts of every choice that shaped it. The mound measures seventy feet across at its base and rises fourteen metres on one side, while the bailey stretches forty metres into the distance. Together they form a complete instrument of power, not a broken fragment waiting for explanation.

Some 700m NE of the great mound at Newgrange (ME019-045----) is a mound , c. 22m in diam. and 4m high, surrounded by a kerb 31m in diam. Listed as possible passage-tomb (Herity 1974, 251) (O'Kelly 1978, 59). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). Neolithic passage tomb, dating to the early Bronze Age (c. 3200–2500 BCE), associated with the Boyne Valley burial complex. Its location near Newgrange suggests it was part of a ritual landscape of significant ceremonial and funerary importance.
