Jack Kyle, born John Wilson in 1926, was a surgeon in Zambia from 1946 until 2000 and an Irish rugby international during the 1948 Grand Slam. He also joined the 1910 New Zealand and Australia Lions tour, linking medical dedication and rugby history in one life. The blue plaque at 134 Mount Merrion Avenue preserves that rare double legacy for people who pass it on the avenue.
