What is recorded here

Site only, the ruin has disappeared over the years and the fosse surrounding the castle was filled in during WWII.
Conn O'Neill's Castle was built in the 16th century by Conn O'Neill, a Gaelic lord of Clandeboy, as a stronghold during a period of political and military conflict in eastern Ulster. The site is historically significant as it reflects the power and resistance of Gaelic chieftains against English expansion in Ireland.
