Millin Bay Cairn

Millin Bay Cairn is a late Neolithic burial monument in County Down where at least fifteen skeletons were sorted and stacked inside a stone cist before seven more small chambers received cremated bodies. The oval mound still stands grass-grown beside Quintin Bay Road, its decorated stones marked with pecked lines that echo the great passage tomb tradition. People may have returned there across generations, first arranging bone like a gift and later reducing flesh to ash, always trusting the bay and stones to keep the dead company.
