Doon holds a platform rath, not a distant myth but a shaped earthwork where human hands raised a place above the ordinary field. That much is clear. The rest resists completion. I would rather leave the gap visible than fill it with invention.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as PLATFORM RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
