What is recorded here

The fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Doomore (leyny By.) is in County Sligo, Ireland. It occupied a gentle west-facing pasture slope overlooking a bog but is no longer visible because the earthworks were levelled. The 1838 and 1914 Ordnance Survey maps marked the site as an embanked circular area about twenty metres across.
In pasture, on a gentle W-facing slope overlooking a bog. This possible rath has been levelled and is not visible at ground level. It was indicated on the 1838 and 1914 OS 6-inch maps as an embanked circular area (diam. c. 20m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). Date of upload: 18 January 2008
