What is recorded here
Towards the W end of the crest of a slight E-W ridge. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 45.6m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (at S: Wth 4m; int. H 0.55m; ext. H 1.5m) SE-S which is reduced to a scarp (H 1-1.35m) elsewhere. There is a rounded fosse (Wth of top 6.5-7.4m; Wth of base 3m; D 1-1.25m) NE-S-NW, which is circumscribed by a field bank SE-SW. The entrance causeway (Wth 5.2m; H 0.2-0.3m) is at ESE. The W part of the monument is overlain by a NNW-SSE field bank and hedge and in places the site is badly poached. Rath (RO035-014002-) is c. 70m to the E, and a roadway (RO035-140001-) defined by earthen banks on either side extends N from the rath on aerial photograph (CUCAP: AJQ 99) (L c. 200m). A short stretch (L c. 20m) of this survives c. 50m to the N as a carriageway (Wth 3m) defined by a field bank at W and an earthen bank (Wth 0.7m; H 0.3m) at E.
