Anomalous stone group in Derryhallagh (monaghan By)

Anomalous stone group

What is recorded here

Nine irregular limestone boulders cluster on a gentle rise above Ghost Lough, forming no visible pattern yet carrying the weight of a Giants Grave in local memory. The stones sit close enough to touch but resist human ordering, suggesting they marked a boundary or memorial rather than a building. Their anomaly lies in intention without explanation, preserving a lost act of placement on the edge of water.
Situated on a rise that slopes down gently to the N and it is overlooking Ghost Lough which is c. 40m to the E. Nine irregularly-shaped limestone boulders are placed close together (3.5m N-S × 3.2m E-W; H c. 0.5m), forming no definite pattern. According to local tradition this feature is known as a 'Giants Grave' and there are various legends and superstition associated with the stones.
