What is recorded here
Derrycooraun holds a burial site in County Mayo, though no visible marker remains to confirm the claim. The land may have swallowed a body, a tiered jar or a forgotten person whose name dissolved before writing arrived. Rain, cattle traffic and patience would have smoothed the evidence into ordinary ground. The absence of proof does not erase the dead; it forces witness into imagination.
