What is recorded here

Two chambers face each other across Derrycallaghan, not one another but the same hidden direction. They are not a border between counties or a seam between lives. They are a chamber inside a chamber, both made visible only when the first chamber stops resisting observation. The counter-scarp is not a line on a map. It is the angle at which a living system turns back upon itself, completes its shape, and returns changed.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as COUNTERSCARP RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
