Grave Yard holds a round tower, four high crosses and dense medieval carving inside a small walled enclosure on a flat-topped knoll near the River Boyne. It grew from a Columban monastic settlement, became a cathedral between 1152 and 1211, and later returned to parish use, layering prayer, memory and stone craft in one place. The crosses still rise among newer headstones, making the graveyard feel less like a buried record and more like a living chamber where old faith and ordinary grief share the same air.

Situated on a prominent flat-topped knoll with a S-N section of the River Boyne c. 80m to the E. The church (ME036-035001-) was within a subrectangular graveyard (dims c. 38n N-S; c. 28m E-W) defined by masonry walls around the mound that might originally have been a motte (ME036- 035002-).
