Moated site in Derraulin

Derraulin holds a rectangular moated site beside a ringfort, marked by an earthen bank and a five-metre gap where entry once occurred. The bank still rises one metre sixty outside and eighty centimetres inside, enclosing a space barely larger than a crowded hall. cattle graze around it now, reducing ancient boundary work to a line in pasture. Whatever lived there must have known the shape of its own limit, and the gap suggests that limit was never meant to be absolute.
