Graveslab in Danesfort lies beside the lost altar within the medieval church, carrying a raised floriated cross but no name. The absence of words does not diminish the mark; it widens the chamber around the dead person, inviting imagination to complete what chisels left empty.

According Carrigan (1905, vol. 3, 371-2), ‘Beside where the altar stood, there is a battered floor-slab of about the year 1500, having a raised floriated cross, down the centre, but no inscription’.
