Gorraun holds cultivation ridges tied to field clearance cairns, possibly dating before 1700. They reveal when people cut stone from working land and stacked it aside, shaping the field edge by edge. The ridge still marks that repeated choice: remove what blocks the crop, and carry the refusal elsewhere.
