Cullaun One is the largest chamber in the Cullaun series, receiving water from Cullaun Zero and Cullaun Zero-One before resurging at Killeany Rising. Discovered first in 1951, it forced the later naming of Zero and Zero-One, creating a backwards numbering system that still defines the cave group. Its low gradient and extensive passage made early surveys difficult, but modern instruments can now capture details that 1950s equipment could not.
