What is recorded here

No visible mound, no ring of stones, no chamber, no carved marker. Only a standing stone inside a later fort, overlooked in guides and maps. The absence is the feature. Judgment requires evidence, but evidence is not supplied. Better to withhold judgment than invent it. What is known is that the stone is still there, unrecorded, waiting for someone to notice it and tell the truth about what it is.

In pasture, on an E-W ridge with views SE to the Paps of Dana. The stone (dims. 1.2m x 0.7m; H 2.7m) is irregular in plan and narrows towards its W side and is orientated E-W.
