Inishcaltra Holy Island in County Clare holds a twelfth-century cross-slab in the NE quadrant of the Saint’s graveyard, set 4.6m from the north wall and 6.61m from the east wall. The slab measures 4ft 6in by 1ft 6in and bears a plain Latin cross drawn with two lines. Macalister noted it in 1916-17 as number 34, a quiet marker beside burials where the island’s old devotion still presses through stone.

Situated in the NE quadrant of the ‘Saint’s graveyard’ (CL029-009030-) on Inis Cealtra (4.6m from the N wall and 6.61m from the E wall). Noted by Macalister (1916-17, 154, no. 34) as of ‘twelfth-century type’ and described as ‘a slab, measuring 4ft 6in (1.37m) by 1ft 6in (0.45m), with a plain Latin cross of two lines.’ Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 6 October 2015
