Shanbally, an old town of interment near Clopoke, holds a rough mountain flag-stone bearing only a Celtic cross. Local tradition claims the marker belongs to a buried bishop, though no name or date remains to identify him. The bare stone still points toward a forgotten church, a lost procession, or a bishop so ordinary that history dropped his name.

Unlocated cross-inscribed stone described by Comerford as 'About two miles south of Clopoke is an ancient place of interment (LA034-043), called Shanavally (old town). On a mountain flag-stone is traced the device of a Celtic cross, the rest of the stone being left in the rough.
