Castle is a circular raised platform in Craddockstown, County Kilkenny, sitting slightly below a bluff crest between two valleys. Its steep scarp and wide external fosse mark it as a ringwork rather than an ordinary ringfort. The eastern fosse has largely filled, yet the intact western curve still rises above grass and tillage, preserving a commanding view across both valleys.

A little below the crest of a bluff between two valleys, in tillage and grassland. There are good views in all directions. A circular raised platform (diam. c. 48m N-S; c. 51m E-W) defined by scarp (H 2.8m) and a flat-bottomed, steep-sided external fosse (Wth 3.5m; D 1.8m), which is largely infilled at E. Built by a local Gaelic lord in the 13th or 14th century, Castle, ringwork in Craddockstown is important as a rare surviving example of a ringwork castle in the region, reflecting early medieval defensive architecture and landholding patterns in Ireland.
