What is recorded here

The site (Wth 1.7m; D 0.2m) is orientated NNE-SSW and consists of a very compact arrangement of brushwood (diam. 0.022-0.06m) from one layer deep on the western side to five layers deep on the east, seen in section. The eastern side of the site was constructed of several longitudinal pieces, underlain by a bundle of obliquely laid brushwood. Species recorded included birch and hazel. Bark was intact on several pieces of brushwood and occasional branched brushwood was also noted. Compiled by: Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit, UCD. Date of upload: 24 August 2010
