What is recorded here
Originally recorded as being exposed on the field surface (exposed L 5.7m; Wth 0.8m) and being milled immediately W of a drain (Dunne 1999, 13, 99LBW0034A). However, it appeared to extend under the bog surface that rose away from the drain towards the centre of the field. Excavation revealed longitudinal twigs and small brushwood, arranged in a band (Wth 0.5-0.8m) orientated NE-SW (Dunne 2002o, 207).
