Detached railway engine shed, c. 1854, having fine ashlar limestone facades; part of Penrose Quay Station which was opened in 1855 and remained in use until Kent Station opened in 1893; partly demolished with new building incorporating original fabric, c. 1950.

Built as part of the 19th century Penrose Quay Station, this building, although altered, retains much of its original fabric and character and remains as evidence of the location of the earlier railway station.
