Carrigaphooca Stone Circle

Carrigaphooca Stone Circle is a small Bronze Age stone circle in County Cork built between 1700 and 800 BC. It once held five stones in an 18-foot ring, but only three remain beside Carrigaphooca Castle. The name means stone of the púca, a ghost or fairy, giving the place a sudden mythic edge. People may have gathered there to mark seasons, settle disputes, or leave offerings where the ordinary world thinned.
