What is recorded here

Indicated is a crannog on a large island in Lough Oughter, County Cavan, Ireland, about 100m from the shoreline. Its circular cairn spans roughly 32m and rises 1.5 to 2.1m, built of small stones around a platform of piles and logs. Fir and oak beams radiate from its north side, perhaps marking a door, a ladder or a place where people stood watching the water.

Large island in Lough Oughter, c. 100m from the shoreline. Davies (ITA Survey 1942) described it as a crannóg-cairn composed of small stones with piles and logs around it forming a log platform. Cairn, circular in plan (diam. c. 32m) and rising to between 1.5m and 2.1m in height. He also noted several radial beams of fir and oak at N.
