What is recorded here

In Cooltymurraghy, disjointed banks still circle a flat hummock, marking an enclosure that once shaped the land before castle shadows fell south of the field boundary. The measure is modest, fifty metres at most, yet the broken rings suggest people lived there with pride, not desperation. What is missing has not vanished; it has been returned to soil, waiting for someone stubborn enough to listen.

On a rise in farmland. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1947) as an irregularly shaped enclosure (NW-SE c. 50m, E-W c. 40 m) immediately N of an ESE-WNW running field boundery. All that is now visible is an irregularly shaped area defined by a series of disjointed banks These appear to enclose a low hummock with a flat summit (6.5m by 4.7m). A castle site (GA099-072001-) lies immediately S of the field boundary and may be associated.
