Coolowen holds a vanished rectangular enclosure and smaller D-shaped annexe, marked on the 1842 Ordnance Survey map but now absent from the pasture above a low rise. The missing boundary may have been a farmyard, a boundary hedge, or a forgotten division of land, while the ringfort remains beside it like a witness. What disappeared is not nothing; it is the part of the landscape that stopped resisting memory.

In pasture, atop a low rise; surrounding field fences removed. Marked on 1842 OS 6-inch map as smaller D-shaped annexe at the SE end of a large rectangular enclosure (c. 80m NW-SE; c. 60m NE-SW) (CO063-046001-). There are no visible remains of either the enclosure or its annexe. The remains of a ringfort (CO063-04603-) lie immediately to the E.
