Gateway, extant 1839, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of cut-granite chamfered piers having shallow pyramidal capping supporting looped wrought iron double gates. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Coolnastudd House.
A gateway forming part of a neat self-contained group alongside an adjacent gate lodge (see 15701109) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement in a rural street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Coolnastudd House estate.
This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
