What is recorded here

Indicated is a circular dry-stone enclosure on a south-facing slope in County Offaly, holding a holy well and bush but no visible church. The wall may mark a lost ecclesiastical boundary later absorbed into a farm field, while the ruinous farmhouse at its edge suggests people still lived beside the sacred centre. The absence of a building does not diminish the place; it redirects attention to the well, the bush and the line of stones that preserved the shape of older devotion.

Situated on S facing slope of rising ground in upland area. Large circular area enclosed by a dry stone wall (Wth 2m; max. H 2m) constructed with small stones possibly field clearance debris associated with ruinous farmhouse attached to S side of enclosure. There is no surface trace of any church inside the enclosure. Holy well (OF043-067003-) and holy bush located in centre of enclosure. The enclosure may be a 19th-century field boundary following the line of an earlier ecclesiastical enclosure.
