Standing stone (present location) in Cool (coshmore and Coshbride By.) is a standing stone (present location) in Cool (coshmore and Coshbride By.), County Waterford, Ireland. It is a conglomerate sandstone upright that stands on a west-facing slope, having been removed from a position eighteen metres to the north where it was thought to have been set up as a scratching post. The stone now serves as a gate post, standing 1.23 metres high with a base measuring 0.5 by 0.28 metres, and it tapers towards the top with a sloping shoulder. A socket measuring 0.05 by 0.02 metres to receive a gate bar is carved into its current northeast face 0.68 metres above ground.
Situated on a W-facing slope. This is the present location of a stone which was thought to have been set up as a scratching post c. 18m to the N (WA020-022----). It was removed and re-erected as a gate post, where it remains as a conglomerate sandstone upright (dims. 0.5m x 0.28m; H 1.23m). The stone tapers towards the top and has a sloping shoulder. A socket (0.05m x 0.02m) to receive a gate bar has been carved into the stone 0.68m above ground on its current NE face. This may have been known to Power (1952, 41) as a dallán.
