Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Cloonteem is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cloonteem, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the bottom of a west-facing drumlin slope ten metres east of a southwest-northeast section of the River Shannon. An oval grass-covered area measuring forty-four and a half by thirty-six and a half metres contains a three-point-two-metre northeast entrance and a crescent-shaped annex attached to its southwest side.
At the bottom of the W-facing slope of a drumlin with a SW-NE section of the River Shannon c. 10m to the W. Oval grass-covered area (dims 44.5m N-S; 36.2m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-4m; int. H 0.4-0.6m; ext. H 0.3-0.65m) N-E-S and a scarp (max. H 1.2m at N) elsewhere. The entrance (Wth 3.2m) is at NE, and there is a crescent-shaped enclosure or annexe (RO012-006002-) (dims c. 40m N-S; 7.5m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.5m; 0.3m) at S and a scarp (H 0.2-0.5m) elsewhere attached to the SW.
