Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cloongownagh, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a circular, overgrown area about 24 metres wide within a coniferous forest. A gapped earthen bank surrounds the perimeter, while a nearby drain replaces a visible fosse. An excavated rath lies 240 metres to the east.
On a low-lying, level landscape. Circular overgrown area (diam. c. 24m) which remains unplanted in a coniferous forest defined by a gapped earthen bank (Wth. 2.4m at N to 3.2m at W; int. H 0.3m at E to 0.6m at W; ext. H 1.2-1.6m). There is no visible fosse or recognisable entrance, but a drain surrounds the perimeter. The excavated rath (RO011-160001-) is c. 240m to the E.
